Thanks jessica. I'll be in FLL on Monday. Signed up for details about the photo contest. Sounds like something fun to keep airport boredom at bay.

When I had a long flight delay last year at FLL, there was already free wifi. What extra is Google providing?

I would guess that these airports don't have free wifi, but now will thanks to Google. Of course, neither Minneapolis or Phoenix are on this list, so unless they decide on offering free wifi, I'll be SOL.

Looks like those of us DC - IAD/DCA are out of luck

Maybe they think we have money to burn :(

How they could do the likes of SEA and BWI - but miss IAD,DCA, SFO, and ORD - I don't know.....

Well whether you have money to burn or not, it's not like Google owes you free wifi. I'm 'SOL' too, but I'm getting what I paid for. ;)

Besides, it's the airports that may hsve turned Google down due to commitments/contracts with other wifi providers, ties with other sponsors and subsidies, lack of adequate equipment in use already, etc. Google and/or those airports may still have made an effort, but couldn't work out a deal that worked for legal reasons. ;)
