Apple has enlisted Google to promote new Apple TV series Pluribus, with a hidden message appearing when looking up the show's name with Google search.

At the top of the search interface after typing in "pluribus," you'll see a Pluribus-themed scrolling message: "What are you searching for, Carol?"

In the series, Carol is one of the only people on earth not infected with a mind-melding virus, and humanity as a collective is determined to make her happy. Part of that effort includes constant messaging.

The first four episodes of Pluribus are available now, with the fifth episode set to be released on Tuesday, November 25, likely due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday in the United States.

Pluribus requires an Apple TV subscription to watch, with the service priced at $12.99 per month.

I wonder how much they pay each time that's displayed. 10 cents? $5?

Wow, just a straight up spoiler right there, for a brand new show that does not even have all of its episodes out; way to go, MacRumors...

We have entered a new era of friendship and co-operation between Apple and Google, and I like it. First, Android phones get support for AirDrop. Now, Google is quietly helping promote an Apple TV show.

What's next, interoperable text messaging?!

Remember Covid-19 exposure notifications? I love living in a technocratic nightmare wherein my every thought and movement is tracked! 😍

Great show. Apple seems to be all in on the new show. Have not yet watched the latest episode, think it will be another good one.

cause I heard they have a huge $15,000,000 per episode budget

If that’s true what a waste that would be. This money can be spent better in so many ways. Give it to the design team to come up with a new design to replace the terrible Liquid Glass. Spend it on in house AI and talent. Invest it in gaming technology and dev studios to improve the gaming situation on macOS. I could go on…

It's an interesting show... want to see exactly where they are able to take it from here, though.

Main plot of the series easily found in any promotional material for it and also early in the pilot episode. This would be like saying its a spoiler back in the day to say that Lost is about a plane crash and a group of survivors.

Show kinda sucks outside the first 2 episode

No way! It's slow-paced but in a good way. The cinematographers are Marshall Adams and Paul Donachie of Better Call Saul fame. Those guys really know how to frame a shot.

All above are good for consumers and bad for investors and shareholders. As a public company obligated to maintain profit, you know how this will go.
