Google Software Update is about to be installed -- won't go away!

Can anybody help me out with this?

Each time I open up Google Earth, I get the message "Google Software Update is about to be installed." I say, "Accept and Install" and it installs. But every time I open Google Earth following that, I get the same message. Again and again.

Tried removing and reinstalling the app. Tried repairing permissions. I found the actual updater -- it's in my user Library folder. Any ideas?

Solved, needed to change permissions to "Read and Write" for system. Thanks for looking though!
