Ok...I have a paid Google Apps account, and I have push email on my iPhone. Can I somehow get Google Sync with the standard Mail.app? iCal will do it, along with the address book. How in the holy hell do I get Mail to do it!?

Any help is appreciated!

You don't need to use Google Sync - just enable IMAP support in your Google account and set up a new IMAP account in Mail.app.

If you click the "configure your mail client" link on that page, you'll find instructions on setting up Mail.app.

mkelly is correct about how to configure Mail with your Gmail account.

However, you'll discover that Mail may not always be up-to-the-second with your Gmail account like your iPhone. In my case, Mail consistently lagged behind no matter what settings I applied. This has been discussed in these forums.

For this reason I am now using the third-party email client "Postbox"(v2). Seems to get "pushed" mail instantly. They have a free version, "Postbox Express", which has less features but seems to get mail instantly, also.
