Google talk keeps asking "download the voice plugin"

Does anyone know how to fix it?
I was able to use google talk before. Now it doesn't allow me to make a call, just keeps asking "Please download the voice plugin to make a call". Re-install the plugin, restart safari, restart OS didn't help

empty your cache? clear history all that jazz?

I've just done those two, it's still asking for downloading the plugin
