I used to sign on to webcam chats and find an option for USB cam, which would turn on my built in MacBook cam.

After today's google update, I no longer get the USB option. Instead, I get Google 1, Google 2, and iSight, none of which turn on my cam.

Any ideas how to overcome this or how to ditch the last Google update?
(I found the suggestion and deleted the Google App file for GoogleTalk ... didn't change anything.

Cam works fine on Skype but not on Firefox or Safari

Thanks,
Trent

Kill Google Talk

I found what worked for me. I got rid of Google Talk and my other problems went with it. There are several blogs that tell you to enter some code in the Terminal ... I tried that and it didn't help.

What worked for me was finding the GoogleTalk uninstaller in Finder:
Do this...

Open Finder/Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Google/GoogleVoiceandVideoUninstaller

Double Click the uninstaller link, and it tells you to close all browsers and hit OK. I did it. It worked. I checked my video on other sites, all working.

Now, if I can keep Google from reinstalling
