The old app works but just barley. Lots of crashes etc, but it sucks they pulled it because for those of us that NEED it, it can send/receive text and call, just crashes a lot.

I was using the old version for a few months on the iOS 5 beta's and it was just as good as it was on iOS 4 IMO.

Then they released an update that said to fix the gripes I had about the app and I was really excited to see they FINALLY did something to make the app better and it's non-stop closes/crashes.

While it's annoying it's still possible to use it after a few tries and I NEED it as my Google Voice number is my main number.

I realize Google wants to compete with Apple with their Android devices but that should mean they leave those who use all their other offerings out in the cold.

What about the web app? That's what I used for months before the actual app came out, and it worked fine then

My guess is that it's fixed already. I'm hoping they test for a couple days and apple fast tracks it back by the end of the week.

yep, crashes constantly on me. I'm using GV Connect with no issues as well. Funny how a third parties app is more stable than the official one.

Web app doesn't give notifications. :(

For the time until the app is fixed, you could have the notifications forward to your email, and use the web app for anything outbound. That's what I used to do before the app was released. Have it either forward to you Gmail, which I assume you have if you have Google Voice, or your brand new iCloud email. Both of those are push, so you'll get it instantly.

This is really getting old.

Anyone have another Google Voice alternative that's good?

Need notifications/push/sms/dial out and receive functions.
