Good morning,

Ive just purchased a domain and am excited that I can forward emails into my regular gmail domain. Example: Sales@MyBusiness.com will be forwarded into my Personal@Gmail.com account but I believe this is the limit as to what owning a Google Domain can do for me.

I'm wondering how much more awesome the G Suite account would be?

I would purchase it for $5 a month solely for being able to reply to people contacting my work email, as in being able to reply from MyBusiness email as oppose to replying to potential customers from my Personal@gmail.com account in which the initial email from a person visiting my site online may come across.

Im wondering if there's any thing I should know about G Suite, considering I'm getting it for the very first time.

Just from a marketing / business consideration, there's some impact on, call it, validating your legitimacy. I mean, it depends on your specific business, but at least in the area where I operate, I can't imagine not having a me@mybiz.com that's a real email box (vs. just a forwarding ... i.e., if you just do that, your respond/relay email will be the @gmail.com).

There's no ads, there's a good but more storage (email and G-drive), you can setup multiple domains, there's actual tech support, etc. We had a legacy G-Biz account that was free, but I still converted over at some point after evaluating the additional perks.

$5/month is pretty cheap given all the services (and capacity) you get.

If I emailed a business domain and got a response from a random personal gmail address, the red flags would start waving, and I’d almost certain not do business with you. This is assuming an internet storefront and not a physical one.

So while I can’t comment on what else you’ll be getting for G suite, it sounds worth it to me if you’re serious about launching.

I agree with the above opinions, having a separate business identity strengthens credibility. With the G Suite you operate underlying G suite apps under your domain. As mentioned, Google does not scan data under G Suite accounts for marketing and advertising purposes, so depending on your business, you can attest to having customer emails protected by reasonable privacy and security (additional security/privacy is available if needed with opt-in's). You can also create multiple accounts to help partition information if needed: info@mybiz.com, service@mybiz.com, admin@mybiz.com, etc. G Suite also has third party apps available that can help with CRM, creating databases and forms, and other info management services. All integrates together under your business domain.

And don't forget the monthly fee is a tax deductible expense.

Google Photos lacks a fundamental feature found on most computers for decades - alphabetization. Name your photos so they appear in a certain order they will not be automatically sorted by name by Google Photos. Instead you must place them in a folder and physically drag them in the order you want.
