I found it quite lame. A good April's Fool joke makes you wonder if it could possibly be true.

I'm sure it's well within their ability to make a good joke. However, it would probably piss a lot of people off; not good business practice.

Yeah, when it's a real corporation that's doing the pranking, they have to be obvious and harmless... i think it's cute :)

Good point, they've got to be really careful now that they're publicly accountable. I reckon what they've done is pretty cool though. :)

oh, my, god. seriously? i doubt it. they know their target markets pretty well. and frankly, 98% of people that used google this morning in our office didn't even see it. i hope most people don't take life this seriously.

I found the FAQ gave some good insights into the Google minds... particularly the self-parodying of the Gmail invite scheme.

"Come on! It's like you've never even HEARD of viral marketing!"

I personally find April 1st to be such a lame day. Sometimes news, print and web sites take it too far. I think it has become unfashionable, really. When everybody is doing it, it's lost its cachet. Sorry if I sound negative, but this whole April 1 thing is really dumb.

I saw it on the 1st. I think it's great a big company can still stay true to it's audience... the common person.

People aren't going to stop using google because they like a good laugh. Any stuffed up business man who disaproves needs a reality check. The world is uptight enough already.

Canadian Humor, it's like British Humour distilled with American Humour and in the end noone really gets it... :p

I liked it though :)

You see? There's just something special about 'em. "I liked it though." Yes, we knew you would.

(Do you get what I'm saying?)

"Thank you for contacting Google about our Copernicus Research Center.

We've received an overwhelming response to this opportunity and are not
currently accepting additional resumes. We will, however, keep your
information on file should we have an opening in the future. At the
current staffing levels, we anticipate that we may need additional
applicants on or around April Fool's Day in 2104. Until then, we
appreciate your interest in Google and your taking the time to write us.

Sincerely,

The Googlunar Recruiting Team"
