Hello
I have been scouring the forum for any information on this but I have come up empty.

I have a early 2011 MBP 2.2 GHz, 8 GB, OS X Lion 10.7.5

I updated my Google Chrome and now I get multiple GoogleSoftwareUpdate-1.2.0.7709 icons filling up my desk top and in the Chrome "About" update settings section I get the "Update Failed" (error: 12) when I try to update.

Also, I tried to install OS X Yosemite and at the end of the install, I get a "could not complete install error" in the box. Do I need to have Mountain Lion before Yosemite?

Any information to help me get "updated" would be great !
Thanks
JB
