Google maps for other devices now have walking options and public transport info... the iphone google maps doesn't yet. What do you think - will this come to the iphone? Googlemaps for the iphone is probably the most used version of the maps for the giant!

This would put apple in a hard place as they use and advertise maps extensively and they can't control the competition because their licence to maps is google...who are promoting android. I wonder what the future holds for mapping and the iphone....

Besides, nokia will get it, blackberrys and java phones have it..so why not give it to apple apple?

exactly. apple will pay millions just to continue to use google maps and google will be more than willing to accept.

i was thinking about this the other day with the release of an 'iPhone competitor' in Android. Does anyone know exactly what sort of agreement Apple has with Google for its use? Have they paid a huge amount to be able to use it forever, or could it one day just disappear from new models of the iPhone if Google decide to challenge the competition more?
