Hi

I'm on O2 and have a 3GS and have till June 2011 till my contract runs out. I got my 3GS free on a refurb deal and £35/month. I like the look of the new IP4.

What I was thinking was buy the IP4 from Apple direct for £500, and sell my 3GS, get a micro SIM from O2 (can I just ask for 1 free as would have a IP4?), and continue my contract with O2 as normal except with the IP4?

I was hoping to maybe get £250 for my 3GS 16Gb Black, immaculate condition still? So in effect get a new IP4 for £250 (16Gb one)

Do you think this is all worth it? where's best to sell it? O2 recycle give around £200 for a 3GS my model, Ebay? another phone recycle place? Is it all worth the hassle to get a IP4, and be £250ish out of pocket?

cheers

Similar to the situation I was in, I had a 3GS on a £35 p/m contract which runs out in April 2011, I sold my 3GS on eBay a month before the iPhone 4 came out and put toward what I needed to get the 32GB i4. I would recommend selling your iPhone 3GS on eBay although I'm not sure how much they fetch right now, also I think it will be worth the hassle as the iPhone 4 is awesome, I had to queue up for 7 hours for it on release morning and I still think it was worth it :D

Why not just trim down your sim to micro size?

How much did you get for your 3GS please? what model and colour was it? Did you unlock it to all networks 1st? as you can free if Pay Monthly on O2?

When you got your IP4, did you goto an O2 shop and get a Micro SIM then? is it free? do you just say to them you now have a IP4 and need a micro SIM? is it instant changeover form normal SIM to micro SIM?

Dont think I would bother with waiting 7 hours for a phone I have to say! mmmm decisions.....

I'd say wait for the 2011 model.
Because my contract will be up when new one comes out in June-ish 2011, so I can then upgrade/start again as normal and sell the IP4.
