Merry Xmas everyone. Early 2011 15' MBP, 500gb that is about full. can't afford big sad, not technical wavy enough to transfer OS to small SDD and use 2nd bay for HDD, so
.guessing 1tb is the way to go. should i go 5400 SSHD [seagate hybrid] or 7200 1tb??? Is there concensise on good drives, or is anything new pretty reliable? THANKS a ton, going to actually try and instal myself, looks like its easy, and i have a external time machine so should be piece of cake

I have been using an HGST 1.5TB drive for a few months now with no problems so far!
Not mega fast but OK.
70 ish for both read and write.
SATA3 connection straight swap for old HD.
