Bought an iPad first gen 16gb with cracked screen for $150 on some local classifieds. When I got home I was surprised when I checked the warranty, it had AppleCare until Jan 27 2013. So i made an appointment at the apple store and told them I dropped my iPad and i came out with a brand new one. :D so I got a brand new iPad, a really nice leather case, a brand new zagg invisible shield and AppleCare until Jan 2013 for $150. Not bad huh? :apple:

Awesome. Sounds like the Apple Care in US have a really good customer service, even is your fault, they will still swap a new replacement for you. Unbelievable, I hope Apple can get rip of those Authorized Servives centre. :D
or change their standard same as the Apple Store.

why did you buy an ipad with a broken screen in the first place? did you have the means to repair it yourself if there was no warranty?

Apple replaces iDevices for free if under warranty?

I think they can only do it once. Depends on the genius though because some kid that was next to me had a cracked screen too and they told him he had to pay like 300 for a replacement.
BUT a couple weeks ago my mothers 3GS thats warranty expired like a year ago broke and they replaced her screen for free :apple:
