It had a blemish in the bottom left of the lcd, but I hauled it to the Apple Store and swapped it immediately. Replacement has no problems.

Loving my new, i7 15" with antiglare high res. It's all the store had, I originally wanted a base 15" for price, but I bit the bullet and took the +$300 charge to have it now. Last two weeks of class, tons of projects, and can't be without a real computer any longer.

Gorgeous, thanks for posting. How much was the buddha vape accessory? :p

Good choice; it even make my mouth water looking at other people's 15" high-resolution anti glares. :p

Da Buddha is 160 retail but between you and me, got it from a friend for 50 who was hard up for cash (After already having a wooden box one
I split with an apt mate)

running migration assistant right now to restore my
computer to how my 2.66 c2d was (except
much faster) while going out to the bars :)

Love the new computer !!!!

Congrats!
One question >>>
How do you like the screen (color, contrast, saturation, brightness)?
Somebody wrote in another thread (which got me a little worried):

"I just came from the Apple store where I took a look at the 15 Anti-Glare (which ive been waiting for since November to buy) and I have to say i'm a little bummed. The colors are not vibrant, seemed washed out on the anti-glare in comparison to the glossy. Also, opening up Iphoto and arrowing thru pics, I was surprised on an i7 just how long it took to load complete focus, 7200 might help. Frustrated! Granted im looking at this under a lot of overhead lights, but it really was just not that great looking. I have 5 year old LCDs that looked better.
How are you people who have the anti-glare at home feeling about color saturation, etc."

I dunno if it depends on which LCD panel you get, but mine looks absolutely gorgeous (and i don't just toss gorgeous into every conversation possible). I came from a mid 2009 glassy macbook pro that i had as an apple care replacement for my early 2008 (matte) and i was wow'd by the screen despite a lot of annoying glare. but even after using that and coming back to matte, in a high resolution and still the same higher gamut screens since mid 2009, it looks awesome. 1680x1050 rules too. I highly recommend it.

And having the machine in your possession in a real setting, the silver bezel looks cool imo. and this is coming from someone who most neglected to get matte again because i liked the black bezel more. it's crazy how something appeals to you in the store but not at home. same with tv's: you buy a 40" because it looks small next to 60" on the wall, then you take it home and it rocks your world. but the black bezel has great in store appeal and it has its own merits (i just cant stand glare for as much as i lug my machine around maybe its just me)

i love this machine, well worth the wait imo.

better battery life (supposedly, havent used it not plugged in yet just got it a few hours ago), on the fly graphics switching, and going from glass to matte and a res bump, much less i7 and eliminating an EOL product, I feel it gets my approval. a subtle but great update.

still, i really wish 1680x1050 was standard or no charge for the res bump (come on, apple) and more importantly, matte should objectively cost the same although i do understand the economies of scale concept and it makes sense from a business perspective.

so much for just "showing that vape off." Going to the bars, "chilling" with some friends, listening to boards of canada and typing this lengthy response on a mac rumors forum, as a truly critical but at heart fanboy. i dig this machine.

and as for threads popping out about it not being as bright, i dunno its hard to compare brightness between glassy and matte but i think glassy is eye squintingly, painful bright at max. i didnt do a side by side and comparing matte 2010 to glassy 2009 wouldnt be fair even if i did :p

but from a non comparison standpoint, the machine is plenty bright!

here's some magsafe porn for you too since you commented on that :p

Looks more futuristic now :D

Btw I saw the glossy and matte hi-res screen today and they do look sharp but the text is small and for people who wear glasses (or wear them for driving) will have a hard time with reading off the screen. So I went for the non hi-res, look great as well just not as small..

My only problem with the new magsafe connector I can really only connect it one way; the other direction unfortunately blocks the Ethernet port.

Congrats on the beast ;) Cant wait till I get mine ! Don't have that many questions about it but thanks for the info, do post more :) I'll probably be swarming this forum once I get it as it's the first mac for me :D

Thanks for taking pictures! I've ordered the same exact one and I'm still waiting for it to get shipped.

Hurry up Apple. :D

Seeing your iTunes library only take up a small proportion of the screen yet show so much of your library.. I can't wait to get mine!

Another video?

I have to say, the computer looks beautiful as well as the resolution. It's so great as a standalone desktop AND laptop.

If I had no access to a second screen, I'd more than likely go for that super hi-resolution.

That is not really a problem:confused:

Maybe not you, but it is for me.

Most of the time the cable drops from where I'm sitting, not behind my table. therefore the cable needs to U-turn back. That's not convenient at all.

On the plus side, I can sit cross legged with the laptop on my lap without worrying about the cable coming off.

honestly tho.. matte is good for antiglare when outside or bright light situation..

but dam.. the glossy screen makes everything so much more vibrant..

Can you have the a FireWire cable plugged in while the MagSafe is reversed like it is in your pictures... (don't care that it blocks the Ethernet, almost
never gonna use it)

what about fonts, have you upped to be able to read better, or is it no problem to read text normally? I think I'd have to make the fonts larger to be able to read without straining my eyes..
