Hi everyone, I just recently got a Hagabis MC40 TB4 enclosure for my MacBook M4 Max. I have a Samsung 990 Pro inside of it. Samsung Magician software shows Samsung 990 but won't allow the firmware to be updated. I was suspecting that I purchased a counterfeit 990 but I spoke to Samsung tech support and the serial number checked out and the PCB board looks fine too. I purchased this second hand. The performance benchmarks are correct as well. I'm getting 3,600 mb/s read speeds. Anyway it keeps disconnecting from my Mac. I wanted to update the firmware but no luck there because I think it's in an enclosure rather than installed internally. Is there any solution to this?

Perhaps drive needs to be attached at slower USB speeds for firmware updates?

"I purchased this second hand..."

(sigh)
I'm guessing that you've discovered why the original owner sold it...
