BUT... they are SOOOOOOO hard to see that it's a non issue for me (especially since I have no yellow spot/line issues!)
Basically, this is a test for the ipad but works just perfectly on the new iphone -> http://www.theipadguide.com/content/ipad-dead-pixel-test-how/7171269
You have to be in an absolutely darkened room with brightness on the phone set to max. All was fine til I reached the black screen test, where I discovered about 6 or 7 dead pixels. So I loaded a website with a black background, and the brightness from the url bar above as well as the other images on the website made the dead pixels impossible to see. Even with me knowing where they were, I looked and inspected and eyed and couldn't see any trace of the dead pixel. All of this in a completely dark room. In normal light situations, the dead pixels become even more of a non issue, at least for me.
So I guess what I'm saying is, even with the improved possibility of dead pixels due to the density, the sheer miniscule size of them makes them a total non-issue. I would've returned an iPad or older model iPhone for 6-7 dead pixels, but they're basically impossible to see on this phone unless you're doing the test in a 100% dark room w/ no windows.
Hopefully this relieves some of you.
