I have been doing more audio recording and want something with a little more juice. My wife is starting a wedding photography business too. I am thinking that we could benefit from the power of the Mac Pro. I could sell my iMac for around $800, and put that towards a student priced MacPro. My three questions are:

Will this be worth the extra money in the long run? Will I be able to do that much more in Logic? Is now a good time to make the upgrade?

My current system does bog down sometimes in logic. Would like to eliminate that and latency problems when recording while providing a more upgradable computer for me and my wife.

The Mac Pro is more expensive, but then again it will run faster and last longer (before having to buy a new one again). It is also upgradeable, so it will last even longer than an iMac.
