Hi all. I got my first macbook pro yesterday. I have a question.
When I boot up the computer or wake it from sleeping, it makes kinda like old printer noise trying to do something for like 3seconds. Is that a normal? I mean when I am using it, it doesn't make any noise only those time. I never owned a mac before so I can't tell. Thanks.

This probably is the optical drive checking if there is a CD inside. Nothing to worry about, it's just a tad annoying ;)

Thanks everyone for reassurance. I was a bit scared at first.
It's a great computer. I'll never go back to window based machine!!

Yep, normal for Slot Loaders, only thing i havent heard do it is my PS3, even my dads XP Laptop does it
