iPad mini Got my mini Smart Cover today...

Man this thing is going to be small! I'm starting think having a mini and a full size ipad isn't so ridiculous.

I have an Xbox game that is (according to Amazon) the approximate weight and (by Apple's specs) size as the mini. I've been picking it up frequently. :D

Explain to me the need to have both? I mean if you're using this at hime...why grab the small one and not the big one. ?

Hahaha, I did the same, as soon as I heard that was a good estimate of the size. Safari wasn't very snappy on it though .... :D

I did the math, it's almost 4.5X more screen than the iPhone 5 -

29.6 vs 6.7

I guess an easy rough comparison for those that don't have a dvd or xbox game box lying around is taking a sheet of letter size paper and folding it in half horizontally.

Portrait orientation - Paper 5.5 x 8.5 / iPad mini 5.3 x 7.87

May I ask if you got this online via Apple (wow, fast shipping) or in the Apple Store?

I got mine (black) today as well. I ordered it alongside the Mini right when pre-orders began. Mini still is preparing for shipment, but the cover switched to Shipped mid-day Friday.

Exactly what I did.
 
Mine got here today as well but everyone is out of the office as there is a hurricane on the horizon.

Those are sweet!! By the web site I couldn't tell if they had the mini covers. But I see they do. That makes it even more exiting, live, real..

Tell me how this goes, whey say they will be in the stores November 2.

those of us who ordered by phone, does that me we are suppose to have them in our hands also by the second or are they just shipping out to us on November 2?

Sorry if you all know this i've never pre-ordered from Apple.

I ordered it from the online store on friday, I was surprised because the delivery estimate was Nov. 1.

All I'm saying is, after actually seeing the dimensions in person, it doesn't seem quite so crazy wanting a full iPad for home and one of these for on the go. Personally, I'm going 100% mini.
 
Was I wrong to pre-order a GLAS.t and a nice TPU back cover in lieu of the smart cover. The costs are not that far apart.

I just don't find any of these vinyl ones attractive.
