Bought these:
http://www.datamemorysystems.com/_memory-information/8GB_Kit_DDR2800_FBDIMMs_Apple_677-1x4.asp

The install took couple of minutes and followed these directions (I kept the stock 2x1GB):
http://eshop.macsales.com/Customize...=install_videos/macpro/macpro_quicksheet.html

No problems what so ever!

I just installed 2 *4GB of RAM from transintel, but the original Aplle RAM is not recognized (I moved them to the second slot)
Any ideas?

They are in the right slots, so probably not properly seated. I´m away from my MP for 10 days so I can´t check

I think it would probably be better if you swap the DIMM 1&2 with 3&4
(Put the 2x2GB on top, 2x1GB on the bottom - of Riser A)

Thanks Ken. What is the reasoning behind that? I am curious.

Having DIMM1/2 on both risers with the same memory would allow simpler/better memory allocation and increase speed (albeit a little)?
