Got my synology DS setup, now how to deal with itunes?

Need some clarification as I'm a bit confused. So my synology DS is up and I have itunes integration setup, great, it shows in my itunes shared devices. Now what's the best way to move all my movies and music over, not sure what I do next. Should I create an empty itunes database. Not sure if I should create a volume on the disk station with a name like itunes first either. Any advice
