I bought the Snow Leopard disc from Apple's support team, because I need to upgrade from Leopard on my MacBook Pro.

I put the disc in, clicked install, and my computer reset but my OS is still the same. What gives?

Snow leopard is pretty much identical in terms of appearance to leopard. If you performed an upgrade, it might have saved your preferences for background and the dock, etc, and look exactly the same as leopard. Just go to "about this mac" and double check what version of OS you're running.

I did and it still says the old one.

Did you start up from the DVD?
If you didn't, try shutting down the computer with the DVD in the drive. Press the power button, and quickly hold the option key until a menu comes up with the computer's hard drive and the DVD (it may take awhile for the DVD to be read) Select the DVD, and start up from it by clicking the arrow.
