Ok guys thanks to someone elses suggestion on here (I forgot who), I think Yahoo Push! is working consistently (touch wood).

Ok here's what you do.

You go to settings, wifi, and hit off.

Then you will be one either 3G or Edge and your push should work every time (keeping my fingers crossed, saying my prayers, and touching wood lol)
