i got my first kernel panic(in 5-6 months of owning my iMac)!! :D
notice i'm happy. even proud.
what did it take? launching 71 apps and then switching to safari

all you g5 owners that are laughing (because you have 147 items listed as startup) take heed. this was on a 800MHz G4 iMac with 512MB RAM and a meager 100MHz bus.

i'm so happy/proud. i wish i had taken a screenshot of the dock. and then see how high i could get my idle meter in activity monitor.

i was going to download a snapz pro x trial and try to get a movie of expose-ing through some apps. oh well. and you should have seen the command-tab app switcher. they were 16x16 icons from edge to edge.

post screenshots of your loaded up dock!

here's an old one with a mere 55 items(in jaguar):

have fun

The processor should have absolutely nothing to do with causing a panic. OS X is a Multi-threaded Pre-emptive OS that can Page memory out to the harddrive. All the processor should do (assuming a nonfaulty processor) is control how fast and responsive those applications are. :D
