I've received two government alerts for severe weather. Works really well, nice feature.

Haven't had an amber alert yet, but I consider that a good thing.

Has anyone with this feature (IOS 6 on verizon and spring I think) received such an alert?

Opinions on the feature?

There is somewhere on the net you can sign up for amber alerts. Try Google. I get the Amber alerts. Do not want any government alerts.

Thanks. Yes, that's a good thing, isn't it.
So you've gotten them for weather. Interesting.

I had a breaking news app before but its idea of "breaking news" and mine differed slightly. lol (sports??)
I like the idea of the government alerts (in an opt in opt out way)

Someone pee pee in your cereal?:p

Give the government a kiss for me!

There is no setting. It's automatic.

On Verizon IP5 (at least) there's a setting at the bottom of the notification center. After "in notification center" and "not in notification center" there's a category called "government alerts".
There are two: "Amber alerts" and "Emergency alerts". Both of which toggle off.
