My iphone 3G which was working fine now has the circle in maps to a radius of 50 miles. I have a chip by the headphone port which has removed a bit of metal.
I can only get assisted GPS Not full GPS In apps like TomTom or NavFree

If your antenna is screwed, you need to have it repaired. Otherwise, without knowing what kind of environment you use it in, there's not much to suggest other than make sure it has enough exposure to the sky to receive signal from as many satellites as possible.

Accurate GPS is dependent on a lot of things, most importantly an unobstructed view of the sky where the satellites are currently at. Most everything interferes with the signal (leaves, buildings, coated glass, etc.).
