Since I got the 11 pro max the gps is unusable. Google maps and Waze have me going the opposite way on a different road jumping in all directions. Driving in an unknown part of a city is impossible. Multiple software updates have ceased to fix the issue so I can only assume it’s hardware?

Any difference if you are driving in open spaces where there is no interference? Any difference in a different car?

It’s consistently bad everywhere I go, no discernible difference, even when waking and trying to navigate. My old iPhone never had a single issue regarding the gps and worked fine with all apps in and out of the car. This is absolutely terrible though. Between this, the awful FaceTime cam on my brand new MBA and the mess I had with my MBP keyboard I’m about to jump ship. Quality control is near none existent it seems. Either that or I’m just the most unlucky apple customer ever lol

Another troubleshooting idea is to try using a different carrier SIM. Smartphones also use cellular tower positioning to assist GPS location, but sometimes some carriers can be wonky.
Also, are you connected to wifi? Smartphones also use wifi to assist positioning, but that can be very inaccurate. For example, all my phones (regardless of brand) will show that I'm way across the street from my home when connected to wifi.

Also try other apps like Apple maps to see if the problem is there as well.

Its the same on any app. Im not changing carriers because its not the carriers issue, as every other phone ive had was fine. there's a bunch of people complaining of the same issues with this model so im assuming its hardware fault, like most apple products these days.
