I'm on AT&T's 200mb data plan because I work at a school that has excellent wifi and I have wifi at my home. I use my iPhone 24/7 for data but I do not need much when I'm out and about. I upload the occasional picture while disc golfing and settle arguments with friends via safari. My only real data pull is GPS.
So here's what I'm wondering:
1. How much data does GPS use, mb/hour if possible?
2. If I install the new update (when it comes out 4.3.3) that deletes the location cache every time I turn location services off will it use data to refill that cache? Apple has said they previously used a 2MB cache.
3. If 2 is a yes how to I keep from getting that cache deleted.
Thanks for any inputs guys. I am pretty stingy when it comes to paying for phone service. I am going on a couple trips soon and am wondering if I need to upgrade my data plan.
