Is there a way to turn off voice guidance during a phone call while using Google Maps on the 5s?.
This is really annoying when trying to have a convo with the person on the other end and all I hear is the speech guidance telling me that my turn is coming up.
Thx
JP

AFAIK you can't unless you deny microphone use, but then you won't heard it talk unless you turn it back on.

I think this was a huge oversight in this app, even my $150 garmin GPS silences during a phone call automatically when using bluetooth...

Wouldn't that be the point of voice navigation?
Since you don't look at the screen you want to be able to know when to turn and where so you don't get lost right?

When you're already navigating, tap the 3 vertical dots on the bottom right. Then tap "Mute Voice Guidance".

It remembers the setting, so when you close it out, it will still be muted the next time you open it. Do the same steps to turn it back on.

FYI, in Google apps or Android, the 3 vertical dots signify settings.
