GPS not working Need Advice

Well ever since i have updated my GPS has not been accurate at all. If i do the locate thing the blue dot is atleast a half a mile away from my location. While im moving down the road it does not even move along with me. I called apple and talked to them and they say its a google maps issue and i restored my phone and reset all the network settings. Could it be that my gps chip went bad? Its really annoying sometimes i hit locate and it locates me about 50 miles away from my location.
