Hello,

I tried to turn off wifi, Bluetooth and mobile data on my iPhone and to take photo deeply in my flat. GPS data in photo metadata still worked. I tried the same on my iPad Pro 2018 and my Sygic navigation found me exactly where I was.

how is this possible?

Thanks.

Turning off WiFi, BT or Data will not affect GPS functioning. They each belongs to different module of the phone.

And even with WiFi&BT etc off for the user, it doesn’t mean the phone will stop utilizing them for assisting the GPS with calibrating to get better results.
