I will be buying a new 15" MacBook Pro but I'm still undecided about what GPU to choose. The machine will be mainly used for development purposes. My typical workflow is:
  • Xcode/Sublime Text/Terminal
  • Sketch application
  • multiple browser tabs

Would the Radeon Pro 450 be ok for this usage or would you guys upgrade to a 455 or 460?

Do you play games? Do very heavy photo or video editing? If yes, get the 460. If no, the 450 should be sufficient. It should have a slight edge over the M370X in the previous iteration of MBP.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll go for the 450 then!

I thought the 455 is equivalent to the 370X as both hit 1.3 teraflops. 450 hits 1 teraflops so its less than last gen, Apple loves to nnickeland dime these days for the slightest. The 460 hits 1.8 teraflops with double the vram.

I thought that m370X was around 1TFLOP as well? But slower VRAM and less efficient architecture. So I expect the Pro 450 it to be faster in practice.
