iStat Menus is showing that my GPU diode is at -197F.

I was just doing some gaming (City of Heroes) under Boot Camp for about an hour. I set the fans to 4000RPMs via smcFan in OS X first, then restarted. This is one of the first times I've gamed under XP.

Did I fry something?

EDIT: I just did the EFI update, and now iStat Menus isn't even showing a GPU diode? I r teh confoozed.

You're on a unibody I assume? Maybe iStat hasn't optimized their software for the new machines yet? I am running the iStat Pro widget and it displays accurate temperature readings just fine. Try using another program before you try to blame the computer or yourself.

The GPU Diode sensor only appears when the 9600 is turned on. Are you sure it's still running?

What do you call the GPU "diod" ? Are you just talking about the GPU temp sensor ?

Mine works fine.

had the same for a while. now it's gone. probably happened because istat isn't updated for the unibodies yet.

Are you playing your game on the international space station? If so, are you outside?

hehe its a wonderfull widget called earth view which i find real neat as it lets u see how far away the sun is (i try to be up whilst the sun is not...)
AND IT'S FREE| ^^

He wasnt talking about your widget, he was asking the OP if he was using his laptop on the extreme cold temperatures of space.
