sad part is it the lid was closed and it shoulda been sleeping, but it wasent, and destroyed the GPU, fortunate i could still boot the machine if i got it to the right temperature, too cold and it would not go, too hot and it would crash, but boot it and let it sit locked up for a minute or so and restart and it would boot to osx

so i took it in tonight and 4-6 business days i should have it back, hopefully fixed if they dont mind that i replaced the harddrive:rolleyes:

I have vague recollection that you don't have Applecare as well. It's rather annoying when you close your Mac and it doesn't sleep. My MacBook goes nuclear in my backpack when it doesn't sleep.

LOL love the nuclear part. Happened to me too and seriously, get someone to take a photo of your face for a good laugh later. When that happened, it's like someone stab you right in the heart.

you would be correct, fortunatly apple upped the warranty an extra year for the GPU issue

glad it happened now and not 7 months from now

Mine went in October - but it blew the LCD display too.

Sorry to hear - hope it gets replaced.
