Hello all. I've got a tank of a (mid-2010) Macbook Pro that's been through Hell and back. Survived 4 years of commuting, an accidental drop or two, a faulty charger, a battery replacement, and a hard drive replacement. Unfortunately, I'm beginning to think its days are numbered.

About a year ago, I started encountering an obnoxious bug where it would crash and reset when browsing the internet. At first, this was very sporadic and I chalked it up to old age. Over time, the crashes became more and more common. At first, it was only certain websites that seemed to cause it. Then it became the internet in general. Now it's happening when I'm offline as well. I can go days at a time without a crash, other times I'll get 3-5 within an hour.

I realize that there's probably not much you can do with a 7.5-year-old laptop, but I'd like to know if there is anything that I can do to potentially prolong its life, or at least make these crashes less frequent. I'm not really in the market for a new computer anytime soon.
