GPU Slowing Down On EArly 2008 Mac pro

My early mac pro is very cool is an 8 core with 8800gt 2gb ram but for example in coverflow if i scroll quick down my album i have some slowing down.

Why?

What resolution are you on? I hate to break it to you, but the 8800GT is actually really slow with Core Animation stuff in OSX. It's basically on par or a little bit below the 2600XT in terms of core image performance. So if you are pushing like a 2560x1600 coverflow animation, things are just going to slow down due to Nvidia's poor driver support for Mac.

Probably. They updated the graphics support for the 8800GT with 10.5.3, and should improve it even more with further updates to the OS.
