The HD2600XT is, well, old..

I want to get a new graphics card for my mac pro, but I don't want to pay the premium for mac only cards, I've read that you can flash a 8800GT to a mac card, but they're nowhere to be found anymore, which of the currently available cards can be flashed to be a mac compatible cards?

I want to be able to use just that card only...

Thanks..

You can just buy the Mac version of the Radeon 3870 or the new Radeon 4870.

Theoretically, a PC 3870 can be flashed to work, but the Mac version has been out for months and we have not had success.

Therefore, theoretically, once we start receiving our 4870s, we will be able to pull the ROM off of them and flash PC 4870s, but we can't do that yet because none of us have our Mac Pros yet.

Also, you can flash a 8800 GTS with the 8800 GT ROM.

And supposedly, because we have a 4870 now, a PC 4870x2 can be flashed to work, but again, it will be several months before anyone can even try that.

thanks for the answer, does that mean only the 8800 can be flashed from PC to mac? I cannot get hold of a 8800 easily here in Hong Kong..
