and what voice do you use

I've found using the UK voice that I could not send text messages at all and generally picked up on about 4-10 things.

the Australian voice is alot better with text messages, i currently use her as generally she understands most for what i say...certain spelling words however she doesn't pick up on. not perfect but for me is the best voice to use to pick up what i'm saying.

why the UK one doesn't i have no idea.

I'll give Siri 7 out of 10. I am Australian but use the US voice as the US voice has many more features such as finding shops/restaurants however in the US only, still useful though.

I'll give her a 9. The vast majority of my speech is understood by Siri. The only regular faults are odd names or proper nouns that get misinterpreted. For instance, I asked about Zatarain's the other day, which was interpreted as "Zada Rands".

Other than that, it's very good. Other issues that may occur are my fault, but I'm hoping will be improved as Siri gets better. For instance, if I slip an 'uh' in there, or revise a sentence mid-stream, it of course creates problems, but that's not really Siri's fault (thought I expect that future voice recognition programs, and perhaps even Siri as she advances, will even be able to deal with these quirks of speech).

I Have A Mid-Atlantic Accent

I tried the English language setting first, but that didn't work well at all. As soon as I switched to American It works perfectly....Messages, email all fine with very few mistakes.

I am pretty impressed with siri now.....And this is still a BETA version...Should be even more useful when we can ask directions, what's on at the movies etc.

9 out of ten!

I have to give her a 9, also.

Siri amazes me that I can ask her to do thing casually and she gets it right!

I give her a 9. There are a few words she's not quite picking up yet.

8.5 talking to the phone. 2 if using my bluetooth kit in the car.

Siri seems to get most of what I say when I raise it to my head and talk normally, even in relatively noisy areas. Unusual names, google searches and questions have me scratching my head trying to work out what Siri heard to "guess" some of the words at times...

I'd give it an 8. The only thing I can't ever get her to understand is when I say third. It always understands first. Like how many days until december 23 will always result in her counting the days until december 21. Anyone else have this problem or is my pronunciation of the word third just a little off?

Can't say for sure without hearing you, but I just asked Siri that question and gave the correct answer. (49 days)

I think scales of 1-10 are too many numbers. So I'm going to do a scale of 1-4.

1.Bad
2.Ok
3.Good
4.Great

For me, I'd say 3.

So, on the requested scale of 1-10 -- you're at a 7.5.

Also a 9. Siri has very little difficulty understanding me, even with the NY accent and 315/75 mud terrains.

I was thinking more 8.5 but that'll suffice.

Apple should add another voice option for English as second language. Siri cannot understand at all when I say "restart". She thinks I said restock, no matter how precise I say it.

I'd give her a 7. She sometimes mistakes words for other things but it's acceptable considering she's still in beta

Siri has a lot of trouble with me saying "Halo" no matter how slow I say it she thinks I'm saying "Hello" even if I say "Hay-Lo".

Initially I would rate it a 4 but after 3 weeks of using it she has learned the way that I speak and I would easily give it a 9.

7 out of 10 for me. I am english and living in america and some words are picked up in a weird fashion :)
