So graduation is coming up here in May, and all of my family/friends are asking what I want gift-wise. I can't stand asking people for anything, let alone for them to give me stuff, so I'm a little short on ideas. I'm going to be living in a smallish RV trailer for about 5 months after I graduate and a small apartment after that so I'm not going to ask for a big stereo or anything.

Try not to suggest anything over around $1000. I already have 60 gig 5g iPod, laptop, and DSLR.

Thanks in advance! :D

Nintendo Wii!!

May is a while a way...might be a different Apple products by then...iTV should be out by then, and if were lucky that iPhone...maybe?

iTunes gift cards are always a great gift. if you're using wired accessories, ask for a BT keyboard, mouse, whatever else there is.

Subscription to Satellite Radio.

Who needs more than good music and a droning voice in the night?

For listening in an RV for 5 months with no TV SoundSticks II

If you take a lot of pictures, maybe a couple or three close friends would want to go in on some applications? (assuming you don't have them)
Adobe Creative Suite 2, FinalCut Studio

A Good Cell Phone Package?

Don't know if you're metro enough to be interested in some clothes?

And $$Cash is always a winner.

You can't go wrong with cash. But, if you are uncomfortable asking for that, can you give us some info about what you'll be doing after graduation (perhaps something that will help in your profession, etc)? Congrats, by the way!

Right now I'm a safety director at a trucking company. I'll be doing volunteer construction work in New Orleans for those months in the RV. After that I'll be back with the trucking company for about a year until I go up to New York for some more volunteer stuff. Once I'm done there (which could be anywhere from 10 months on up) I'll be back at the trucking company for good.

thanks

Whoa! I thought we were giving basic suggestions for a high school grad. Sorry 'bout that.

Need to rethink list.

These are some smaller suggestions:

Hmm a Nintendo DS to keep you occupied due to a lack of a TV?

Subscription to a magazine you like?

A vacation to somewhere? Gift certs to things on signaturedays.com? They have cool things to do like ride in a racecar.

how about a graduation ring? that's what my parents got me when i graduate from high school and university (amongst other things).

if you're the type of person who has everything and doesn't really want or need anything, a graduation ring might be just the thing.

I already have my senior ring, which collects dust on my desk. Meh.

Just for clarification I wasn't sure if everyone understood, I am graduating high school.

Wow. I'm going to take back my Wii suggestion and suggest that you buy a Nintendo DS and a load of porn to play on your laptop. You'll miss seeing girls with muscles smaller than yours once in a while.

Well, I figured out how to have TV in my trailer, so I'm seriously considering an Xbox 360 now. (My research has shown the 360 to be the best over the PS3 and Wii, mainly because of game choice)
