Graininess in pictures?

Hey guys;

When I take a picture, such as a wallpaper, from a site to use on my iPhone, it appears very grainy when on my phone. I would take a screen shot, however when taking a screen shot, the picture appears fine when back on my computer. I am sure I am not imagining this, as the graininess is quite severe.

Things like gradients look especially bad, as they are not smooth and very.. well.. grainy.

Does anyone else have this problem and/or a solution?

EDIT: It is not just when using it as a wallpaper, it appears like this in all areas of the iPhone ( IE "Settings > Wallpaper", Photo application, etc.)

I don't have that problem an haven't read it anywhere else n the forums. But I would just take it by an apple store if you have one near. Or go ahead and call and send it in they will replace it quick for you. I sent mine in had it back in 3 days so not to bad since I don't any other options.

Either way you shouldn't put up with it so get some help.

are they iphone sized pictures? with the correct resolution?
