Ok, here's a plan. Take an existing non-iPhone line on AT&T, and transfer the sim to an iPhone 2G. Wait for AT&T to force you into the $20/unlimited 2G data plan. Then upgrade to iPhone4 and grandfather that to the $30/unlimited 3G data plan. Grandfather in the ol' backdoor...

exept when you put your sim in the 4 yor ganna have to cut it and they will automatically add the 25$ 2 gig plan to your line. if you dont have it it sucks i know. but you should of gotten an iphone and enabled 30 unlimited b4 june 6th. my guess is screw the internet teathering psssssssssssssssss
