I still have the $30 unlimited data plan on AT&T, and it is my understanding that as long as I don't change my plan, I can keep it, right? Since we have a few hours before the 4s preorder is live, I tried checking the rates with an iPhone 4. How come the rate that shows up on the Apple store site when I preorder a 4 is my $30 unlimited, but my voice plan is full price (doesn't include FAN discount). Conversely, why does the AT&T site tell me I need to change to a new data plan but applies my FAN discount to the 2gb data rate?

Am I going to have to make a Sophie's choice here?

And before I stick with AT&T, what are the stats for when they throttle the older unlimited plans? Is Sprint's unlimited worth forgoing the 14.4 HSDPA? I hate AT&T, but prefer having a GSM phone...

I think your best bet would be to call AT&T and ask them.
