I know there are a few threads on this but had a hard time sifting through it all. I called AT&T this morning to see what the capabilities will now be with my grandfathered plan. Apparently I can FaceTime over 4G, and the data will be throttled at 5GB. Is there a way to get the hotspot feature? I haven't jailbroken my phone in a while but to enable my iPad to connect I would definitely do it when it's available. Just trying to do whatever I can to keep this unlimited!! Thanks for any help.

Far as I know, unlimited on AT&T = NO Tether & NO Facetime over 3G/4G/LTE

facetime over 4g is only available if you move to a shared data plan

tethering/hotpsot if you pay extra

i think though both will override the unlimited data...choose wisely

I ditched unlimited in favor of shared data - saves me over $100 month... Anyway I have 3 phones and an iPad so it makes sense - the reason I'm telling you this is I have hotspot on my phone with no extra charge. Last night I actually preordered my iPhone 5 while tethered to my 4s as Time Warner picked the worst time ever to go down  To me, unlimited data is only as much data that remains unthrottled, so unlimited really is 5GB. I guess that is better than $30 for 3GB though but the downside is no native tethering for you or facetime... I hate AT&T most times and this is no exception.
