Graphical glitch on boot has me worried

Hi folks, when moving from the grey boot screen to the login window, there is normally some blue first. At the moment I get a half blue half black screen,split by a jagged diagonal line. It then flashes and goes to my login.
I'm a little worried this could be something more serious..PRAM/Permissions/Disk Repair done. Computer works fine and I can game for hours with no artifacts so don't think it's the GPU that is fried.

No other issues don't worry about it. Its 10.6 being glitchy.

does it look like this?

if so, i reinstalled osx and it went away. It came back a month or two ago and I narrowed it down to "Air Display" - an iPad app to extend your monitor. Once that was deleted, the iMac was fine.
