For those of you that are interested, GraphicConverter 7 has been released

This is the first paid upgrade in a looooong time for GC6 users
$25.95 for the upgrade
$39.95 for the full app

I just purchased, but haven't tried it out yet
I have found GC to be a must have app for as long as I can remember

Version 7.0:
  • New user interface (in Cocoa)
  • Geodata is shown on a map
  • New window for multiple conversion
  • Stepless zooming of preview images in the browser
  • Clearly organized preferences dialog
  • Multiple processor support for more efficient work
  • Various small improvements

There are a lot requests on the board for apps for image editing
I would recommend GC as well as Pixelmator and Photoshop Elements as a good place to start

I have no affiliation with GC, I'm just a satisfied customer and I know many here use it and might miss the upgrade
It didn't show up in GC6 when I looked for updates

^+1 I cannot agree more. For more than a decade, I too have been a devoted paid user of this wonderful application. Lemkesoft is a truly heroic shareware developer. GraphicConverter's virtues put many mainline commercial titles to shame.

No more ability to play movies in the Slide Show?

I am used to using Graphic Converter 5.9, which will play movie files along with images in the Slide Show.

Using the Graphic Converter 7 demo, it looks like the Slide Show now just shows black screens when it comes to a video.

Am I missing something or is the slideshow in the new version less capable/useful?
(that is, it will no longer play mp4/mov movie files)

Don't know about the demo, but it works fine in the paid version.

wow, i used to love GC. but this version get horrible reviews on their own site.

most people say the new UI is slow and functionality is missing.

what are your impressions? i'd like to know before I drop 25 bucks.

While the beta version does add the ability to play videos in the Slide Show, they only show in original size—no way to have them fill the screen like in previous versions.

I emailed the developer and they say that that feature will be re-appearing in v7.1.
