Quite long ago I've noticed that if you keep your machine on for a couple of days, after restart you will notice that OS animations like swiping through the desktops or maximizing windows become way smoother (regardless of how many apps were running before/after restarting). This is still the case with the OS X.10 GM.
What's causing all this degrading graphics performance with prolonged up-time? Is there some kind of graphics cache which can be cleaned without rebooting to regain the performance?
