So we had this over in the PowerPC hardware forum, now that my primary machine is an Intel one I'm curious as to how much newer Intel Macs (especially newer Macbooks with their Intel HD stuff) hand out a spanking [or not] to PPC hardware.

We used a [universal binary] application called OpenMark.
Download here > http://mac.majorgeeks.com/files/details/openmark.html

Once downloaded, open the .app, and either press Command + R or go to the OpenMark Menu and select "Run Benchmark to, well, run the benchmark.

Post [preferably a screenshot] of the results, the result is the number [should be 3-5 digits] next to the word SCORE.

No screenshots for my MBP at the moment, but my old G5 tower with a flashed PC ATI FireGL X3 256MB [with Radeon X800 XT ROM] scored just under 15,000, and could get over 22,000 with an overclock.

Macbook Pro 3,1 - GeForce 8600M GT 128MB - 21,938
Original Intel iMac, 2GHz "Yonah" - Mobility Radeon X1600 256MB - 11,063
iMac G5 ALS - Radeon 9600 128MB - 4147
iMac G5 [iSight] - Radeon X600 Pro 128MB - 5018
Power Mac G5 dual 1.8GHz - Radeon 9600 XT 128MB - 5018
Power Mac G4 466Mhz ["Digital Audio"] - Radeon XT 128MB under Leopard - 4,572
eMac [ATI Graphics] - Radeon 7500 32MB - 557
iMac G3 350MHz [Summer 2001] ATI Rage 8MB [I *think*] - 115

OpenMark has been discontinued a long time ago - I don't see the point in using it as a benchmark nowadays.

Anyways, for what it's worth my final score was 77875 at 2560x1440x32.

UT2004, Quake 3, Doom 3, all 8-13 years old, still great GPU benchmarks that'll run on a huge range of Macs... from stuff built today, to 466MHz G4 Macs from 2001.

jelly, man

What GPU you got in that iMac?
