Graphics card confusion???pls help

i have got the NVidia Mac G5 64MB GeForce FX5200 AGP Video Card,(nvidea model a146)
but it comes up as a 64 mg card.
i cant work this one out at all, can anyone help please?
it cant just be 64 meg can it, i think im missing something here;(

well seeing as in the description you say 64MB then yes it is a 64 megabyte card

why make a pci express card with what looks like ddr3 memory on it, with only 64 Mg ? i mean, i would expect it if i had fished the card out of a acorn electron maybe....

Again.. I don't get what you're asking. Are you (seriously) asking why your 64MB video card only have 64MB of VRAM on it?

Don't get caught up in marketing hype. 64 MB of VRAM is plenty for most people. Having more doesn't magically make your card much better.

Of course it can have only 64MB of graphics memory on it.

All because you were too cheap to buy a computer/graphic card with more graphics memory.

If you got a PowerMac, spend a few hundred and buy a new card.

If you got an iMac G5, sell the thing and buy a new iMac G5.

Edit: And the iMac and PowerMac didn't have FX5200 PCI Express video cards with DDR3 memory, just plain old AGP 8x with DDR.

Every Mac with a GeForce5200 has a 64MB card. There isn't a Mac version of the 5200 with more RAM - if you need to upgrade then you're looking at a Radeon 9800, X800, or GeForce6800.
