Hi, i bought a sapphire radeon HD 4870 that was flashed with mac firmware. I've never installed a video card before. Do i just turn the machine off, put in the card, and boot up? or do i need to install drivers before i put in the card? Also, which card slot do i put it in?

Thanks

Get the driver first. Turn off the computer, find an empty PCIe slot. Install the card without touching the contact pins. Make sure it's all the way home. Turn the computer back on and see what happens.

It would help to know what model of Mac you have... Mac Pro I assume?

Yes, a Mac Pro 1,1

Where would i find the drivers? Would it be on the CD that it comes with?

Also, which PCI slot is the fastest? Is there an application on my OS that will give me more information on that? Im running snow leopard btw.

^^^On that model there are four PCIe slots showing. Take any one that's open near the CPU.

If a disk came with the card, it probably has a driver on it, although I'll bet the card will run anyway.
If you run into a problem try the Radeon support site. Drivers are available out there.
